RESPONSIBILITIES:

APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT FOR NOVEL PROTEIN CONFORMATION DETECTION PLATFORM
o Primary responsibilities for implementing research goals of the organization including internal programs and collaborations with external customers as part of sales development process
o Generate publishable quality data for use in presentations, application notes and scientific articles in relevant journals
o Recommend and execute on research opportunities that will advance the use of Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) measurements for protein conformation detection
o Develop oral and written presentations for national and international scientific and technological conferences

SUPPORT PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
o With input from the CSO, initiate and develop research plan to identify and validate improved surface chemistries for the attachment of proteins to relevant instrument consumables (slides, microplates etc.) compatible with SHG measurements
o Test families of proteins using developed surfaces to demonstrate specificity and/or generality of each surface
o Provide data to allow development team to initiate process of consumable stream optimization using developed surfaces
o Propose and conduct or oversee parallel experiments on proteins to validate SHG data
o Work with engineering team to develop, document and implement validation and optimization experiments for platform development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Ph. D in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering or chemistry with 2 years of experience in protein biology, protein labelling and or surface chemistry. MS/BSc considered with appropriate additional academic or industrial training and job-related experience
Proven experience in successfully working autonomously with an attention to detail and a fastidious approach to lab experimentation
Proven ability to manage time effectively with regard to participating in- and managing multiple high profile projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, presentation, organization and teamwork skills a must
