Job Description:
In this position, you will provide technical expertise and support to technical development, quality control, new business development, manufacturing, and any other department that may require technical support. You will also interface with customers during new product development and obtain and manage resources appropriately to complete required tasks. Serve as technical resource for process development, quality control and manufacturing. Major involvement in the design, execution, and troubleshooting of experiments. This includes creating protocols and determining the next step in the project.
Perform critical analysis of data, interpret results, and draw scientific conclusions.
Present data at group meetings and other broader audiences within or outside the company. Communicate results through appropriate documentation, statistical analysis and trending. Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis. Write development reports and test method qualification/validation documentation, and assist in the writing of regulatory submissions. Continue to develop expertise in a specific work area.
Job Requirements:
PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related science with 5-8 years of post graduate experience, preferably in industry or BS/BA in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related science with 10+ years of appropriate industrial experience. Biotechnology related test method development and FDA regulated industry experience. Knowledge of international and domestic regulatory guidelines. Test method development, qualification and validation experience. In depth technical understanding and experience with the following analytical methodologies: Chromatography (SEC and Reverse Phase HPLC, IEX, HIC, and GC), Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE, IEF, CGE), Viscosity, Total Organic Carbon, ELISA, and/or qPCR. Experience with test method qualification and validation according to ICH Guidelines.
Knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis. Experience with biopolymers (preferred). Experience in experimental design and critical analysis of data (statistical software experience preferred). Highly developed lab skills and techniques. Ability to work independently while performing new tasks. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as function effectively as a team member and team leader. Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary problem solving and technology transfer teams. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and effectively organize and prioritize workload.
