Scientist, Formulation Development BIND Biosciences
The ideal candidate will possess specific knowledge of formulation chemistry and experience in formulating drug products. The candidate should have experience preparing lab reports and protocols or workplans and working in chemistry or process labs. Knowledge and experience with statistical design of experiments and analysis of results is desired. The candidate should be capable of critically analyzing, organizing, and communicating data.
Specific experience with polymeric drug delivery forms, nanotechnology, hands on preformulation work (physicochemical properties of API as well as suitable excipient selection), analytical equipment (particle sizing, HPLC, DSC, XRPD, GPC, microscopy, GC, etc.), and lyophilization is preferred. Experience with chemotherapy drugs is also preferred.
As our R&D programs integrate polymer chemistry, particle delivery technology and automation across multiple therapeutic areas, the candidate must work, teach and learn across multiple technical disciplines.
Effectively work with Pharmaceutical Science, Biology and Development groups to integrate existing scientific capabilities.
Organize, evaluate, and present data in an effective and scientific manner.
Take in charge of rapid, comprehensive characterization of API molecules to determine the physicochemical characteristics, apply this knowledge to design experimental plans, and performs optimization works on controlled release parenteral formulations.
Duties include independently planning, designing, executing, interpreting, and reporting results for complex studies .
BS or MS in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutics, biomedical engineering, or related field.
1-5 years experience in biotech/pharma industry with experience in drug product formulation.
Hands on experience on pre-formulation works including measuring physical properties (e.g. pKa, partition coefficients, pH-solubility profiles, etc), selecting suitable excipients for salt formations, and investigating excipient-drug interactions etc.
Hands on working experience in solubilizing excipients injectable and oral formulations
