The scientist position will design and perform experiments involving stem cell research both in vitro and in vivo. Extensive experience in molecular biology and cell culture is required.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Design and construct molecular biology tools, e.g. RNAi and miRNA expression vectors.
Genetic manipulation of stem cells such as human embryonic stem (ES) cells and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells.
Differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into desired somatic cell types such as endodermal lineages.
Performing antibody-based assays, including immunostaining, FACS and ELISA, cell isolations by MACS and FACS.
Performing RNA isolation, real-time PCR analysis and related techniques.
Maintain data and records, and other related duties as assigned.
Ph.D degree in molecular biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, or related fields.
Highly demonstrated working experience with small RNAs such as RNAi and miRNAs are required.
Previous experience in culture of human ES cells and iPS cells is a plus.
The ideal candidate will show high motivation for learning new research subject and has the potential to lead projects in new research area including developing creative ideas, design and execute these ideas efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have superior written and verbal communication skill as well as the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
