Support product development related to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) using Fluidigm?s technology together with an interdisciplinary team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Develop NGS applications for single cell genomics on the C1 Single-Cell Auto Prep System.
Support applications on the Access Array System, Fluidigm?s proprietary sample enrichment platform for targeted sequencing.
Develop applications and protocols for multiple NGS systems, including Ion Torrent, Illumina, and Roche 454 platforms.
Test and validate protocols for commercial release. Generate data to support marketing and sales.
May plan and supervise the work of others.
Education and Experience
Ph.D. in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry or biomedical engineering, with 1-2 years years of industry experience essential AND post doctoral experience desired.
Hands-on experience in genomics assay technologies (e.g. qPCR, droplet/digital PCR) essential
Deep experience with NextGen sequencing essential.
NGS product development leadership experience required.
Broad experience in standard molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA sample preparation, PCR and RT-PCR essential
Experience with project management desirable.
Technology development experience preferred.
Experience in bioinformatics and statistical data analysis an added plus.
High-performance individual with a proven ability to generate results.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently, run experiments, analyze data, interpret results and modify procedures, present results in public and maintain experiment records.
Excellent chemical intuition and hands-on laboratory skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to successfully work in a team environment and to adapt to rapidly evolving needs.
