JOB DESCRIPTION
This position offers challenging, individual growth opportunities and continuous variety for a highly motivated individual. In this role you will:
Contribute to the design, development and execution of novel particle-based delivery product candidates
Work in a hands-on, dynamic laboratory environment engaged in design, nanofabrication, analysis and manufacturing of nanoparticles and microparticles
Perform laboratory experimentation across a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including particle fabrication and characterization using Liquidia?s proprietary PRINT platform
Apply scientific methods and observational and critical analysis skills to plan and execute experiments
Analyze data and draw conclusions from results with minimal supervision
Provide experimental observations and report results to fellow team members and supervisor
Generate, manage, evaluate, and maintain critical data in a highly organized manner
Attend and participate in team meetings
Help maintain a functional laboratory environment
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. or M.S with 5+ years industrial lab or relevant experience required. Ph.D. with 0-5 years post-doctoral or equivalent industrial experience strongly preferred
Degree in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences or related field required
Experience in polymer chemistry, bioconjugation and nanoparticle surface functionalization, protein and nanoparticle formulation strongly preferred
Research experience in drug delivery of small molecules, antigens and nucleic acid, lipid and polymer-based nanoparticles, nanofabrication preferred
Understanding interaction of particle matrices/polymers with biological cargoes a plus
Experience with biophysical and analytical techniques necessary for characterization of nanoparticle formulations, including: DLS, CD, and electron microscopy (SEM, AFM)
Ability to critically analyze data and to compile technical reports
Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Ability to multi-task, be pro-active and to work independently
Must be a creative, detail oriented person with strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment is essential for success
