Astute Medical, Inc. is an early stage diagnostics company dedicated to improving the diagnosis of high-risk medical conditions through the identification and validation of protein biomarkers that can serve as the basis for novel in vitro diagnostic tests.

Astute Medical, Inc. is seeking an inquisitive and creative self-starter to join our product development team for a temporary assignment. This is a hands-on, laboratory position. The qualified candidate will apply his / her technical and leadership skills to develop and commercialize quantitative immunoassays and clinical diagnostic systems for novel protein biomarkers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop quantitative immunoassays and immunoassay systems for novel protein biomarkers
Work with technical staff to develop ideas aimed at solving challenging technical problems
Propose, execute, and work hands-on to complete experiments aimed at the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of quantitative immunoassay products
Communicate technical activities and progress (both verbally and in writing) to all levels within the company and externally when required
Provide hands-on support for product verification and validation activities including clinical trials, in-house trials, data analysis and report writing

Requirements

Must have demonstrated track record of success working in research and / or development
PhD in the physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering disciplines (physics, chemistry, chemical / biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or biology) with 0-5 years of relevant experience. MS or BS degree with 5+ years experience developing IVD products will also be considered
Prior experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is a plus
