Astute Medical, Inc. is an early stage diagnostics company dedicated to improving the diagnosis of high-risk medical conditions through the identification and validation of protein biomarkers that can serve as the basis for novel in vitro diagnostic tests.
Astute Medical, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented scientist to join our R&D team. The qualified candidate will apply his / her scientific knowledge and software experience to develop complex analysis systems for the discovery and validation of novel protein biomarkers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop and verify data systems which efficiently analyze large clinical data sets utilizing both univariate and multivariate models
Interface with the Biomarker Research group to develop a deep understanding of the analysis methodologies
Design, develop, and verify desktop/web software written in vb.net for data capture, QC and database storage systems
Participate in all phases of software development: design and development, verification and validation
Ensure all data systems from measurement to analysis maintain the highest levels of integrity and efficiency
Ensure the software systems are developed and documented in compliance with regulatory guidelines including 21 CFR Part 11
Interface with other members of the R&D team as well as other staff to provide custom tools for efficient data capture, QC and analysis
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience developing data analysis software
PhD (preferred) or M.Sc. in the physical sciences, engineering disciplines, or life sciences (physics, chemistry, engineering, biochemistry, or biology)
Demonstrated record of development of complex analysis software
Knowledge of clinical metrics and statistical analysis techniques
Knowledge of supervised learning and cross-validation techniques preferred
Well versed in Vb.net , Visual Studio 2010, .NET 4.0 desktop applications
Experienced with Sql Server 2008
Familiarity with Visual C++ is preferred
Excellent organizational, record keeping, and communication skills
A strong work ethic to generate high quality data under tight deadlines
Collaborative and proactive attitude a must
Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 preferred
Prior experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is a plus
