Scientist/Senior Scientist, X-ray Crystallography Rib-X Pharmaceuticals

Reports to: Associate Director, Structure Based Drug Design



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced X-ray crystallographer in our Structure Based Drug Design group at either the Scientist or Senior Scientist level depending on qualifications.



Responsiblitities:

The successful candidate will participate in our antibiotic drug discovery efforts targeting the ribosome by carrying out crystallization, co-crystal structure determination, refinement, and on-site synchrotron data collection.
The successful candidate will play an important role in project teams and collaborate closely with other scientists in the discovery and optimization of novel drug candidates.



Education and Experience:

PhD in Biophysics, Biochemistry or related field and drug development experience in drug discovery.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative and team oriented environment.
Familiarity with organic molecules coupled with the ability to effectively interface with synthetic and computational chemists to facilitate drug design is highly desired, as is previous RNA experience.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of accomplishments demonstrating technical proficiency, structural thinking, and scientific creativity.
