Job Description:
SeaMicro seeks an experienced Product Manager for its industry leading line of energy efficient servers. Product Managers will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, presenting technical information about products and services, and working with engineering on features to foster the growth of SeaMicro product line in the market. The Product Management team is a critical component to the growth of the company and the individuals in this team must be capable of displaying an in-depth knowledge of SeaMicro products as well as industry and competitive solutions. Product Managers are expected to work closely with Engineering, Account Executives and Partners to ensure that SeaMicro is working on technology that meets customers needs.
Responsibilities include:
Working closely with customers to understand their requirements
Delivering product insight based on market trends and customer feedback
Converting insight into product features
Translating features into product requirement documents that server as the template for engineering development
Prioritizing features and developing the product roadmap
Being a product and solution expert with customers and a resource for the sales organization.
Presenting products and solutions to prospective customers at the technologist and executive levels.
Training the sales organizations on products, features and solutions
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years large-scale data center industry experience in architecture or product management roles.
Proficient understanding of data center technologies and product deployment methodologies is required.
Working knowledge of applications in the data center like Apache, Java, PHP, Hadoop etc. is a plus.
Strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to discuss highly technical concepts with technologists and executives.
Strong background in compute/servers, switching, and routing.
Additional expertise in load balancing, storage and security a plus.
A BS degree in EE/CS/Computer Engineering is required.
A Masters degree either in engineering or MBA is a plus.
