A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
Attention SEM Afficionados! We are seeking a clever and imaginative SEM Analyst to join our team of SEM Professionals. The SEM Analyst is a detail-oriented, hands-on web marketing enthusiast, responsible for the bottom-line success of search engine marketing, social media networking and other online marketing campaigns for our products. This position will involve analysis of our existing portfolio and the development of strategies to expand our portfolio as well as maximize net revenue. We have an extremely large portfolio and the optimal candidate must be comfortable working with industry tools as well as our proprietary toolset to perform campaign management functions. Partnering with the Creative, IT, and Product Management teams, this individual will develop, manage and optimize online marketing campaigns and reporting. This individual will possess a strong online marketing and direct marketing background, superb analytical and communication skills, and be a proactive self-starter.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, manage and optimize paid search listings (PPC) for multiple sites across a range of search engines and other paid search suppliers, making both supplier and implementation recommendations for continual improvement.
Develop and execute strategies to grow traffic and performance.
Perform analysis, testing, and reporting of search marketing campaigns and provide recommendations based on traffic patterns, navigation paths, bounce rates, conversion trends, etc.
Build strong partnerships with third parties - agencies, search engines, content partners to build links to Mindspark.com and stay ahead of SEM, SEO and social commerce best practices.
Gain awareness of other internal online marketing initiatives including SEO, CPA, affiliate programs, email marketing, etc.
Leverage analytical tools, such as Coremetrics, Hitwise, etc., to understand and maximize online marketing programs performance.
Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership as needed
Continually discover and leverage best practices and new tools within the online marketing domain as applicable to our business
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field
3-5 years experience in search marketing with demonstrated track record of success in developing and managing PPC across Google, Yahoo!, and MSN
Fluent in the search landscape, including performing competitive analysis, keyword development, tracking tools, bid-management systems and reporting tools
Experience in analyzing marketing metrics, quantitative evaluations of marketing efforts, establishing test methodologies, and analyzing results.
Experience working with 3rd party vendors, agencies, affiliates and partners is required
Must have experience building business models and cases in the online space
Excellent analytical and creative skills
Excellent communication/typing and presentation skills
Must have strong PowerPoint and Excel analytical skills
Works well on a team or on solo projects
Good multi-tasking and organization skills
