We have immediate opportunities for a Security Engineer in the Bay Area (San Jose or San Francisco, California).
The primary responsibility of the Security Engineer, part of the Security Business Unit, is to provide pre- and post-sales security engineering services for FusionStorm customers. The Security Engineer is expected to act as a team member on large projects and primary engineer on point projects, providing technical project management and direction as assigned. The job is approximately 25 pre-sales support, 25 technical implementation and 50 assessment. 50+ Travel Required.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Participate in high-level security project discussions with Customers and FusionStorm employees.
Assess the security posture of new and existing information processing environments againstnumerous standards and practices.
Provide operational and technical remediation steps to control objectives.
Architect information security in new and existing environments.
Participates in or leads assessment engagements and presents educational seminars on information security.
Provide critical review to other Engineer's designs as needed.
Implement security products including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and various other security products.
Generate engineering requirements (including descriptions of requirements and solutions) for proposals.
Obtain and maintain vendor engineering certifications required for service delivery.
As a primary provider of security consulting to the Customer, provide security consulting and engineering services that assure a high degree of Customer satisfaction.
Manage customer expectations and deliverables.
Provide timely and accurate information regarding the above to: Customers, Other Security Engineers, Engineers from other FusionStorm Business Units, FusionStorm Account Mangers and Inside Sales Reps, FusionStorm Security Management, FusionStorm Project Managers (when a PM is required).
Understand and abide by all security and operational policies.
Essential Education / Experience:
2 to 4 years experience as a Security and/or Network Engineer.
Network and Security Sales experience preferred.
Experience and certification in the Symantec DLP, SourceFire and RSA Security product.
Networking security experience.
Experience with a broad range of security products such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, AV, VPNs, Authentication, Content Filtering, etc. in a variety of network implementations.
Experience with business and functional requirements collection.
Experience with commercial or freeware security products (Firewalls, VPN, Intrusion Detection) - certification a plus.
Experience with the Nokia application platform product line - certification a plus

Knowledge of IT governance frameworks; ITIL, COBIT, ISO 27001
UNIX familiarity - Solaris, Linux or BSD a plus.
