We are the largest independent sports site on the web competing with the likes of ESPN and FOXSports, and are one of the fastest-growing sports digital media properties. We are also extremely passionate about sports and creating a new paradigm that allows thousands of people to create great sports content around the teams and topics they too are passionate about. The segment producer will be part of a team that creates video for a top 5 nationally ranked sports portal (19+MM uniques a month). The segment producer will help define and grow the creative output, talent base, and segment ideas.
Position:
Coordinate and manage the creation of daily multiple segments for NBA year round.
Manage team of content creators (Producers, Associate Producers, Production Assistants).
Lead story planning and pitch process for producers and talent.
Plan future event and story coverage in conjunction with content, programming, and analytic teams.
Collaboratively manage and lead producers and talent in content creation.
Develop creative new formats and treatments to tell entertaining and engaging stories in opinion and real time analysis.
Collaborate with senior staff on talent and producer feedback and discovery of new talent.
Collaborate with NBA counterpart on written content team to set best schedules to maximize workforce.
Work with production leadership in NYC and San Francisco to build the most efficient schedule for editing and post production.
Collaborate with video leadership on recruiting and hiring.
Find new technology and processes to increase efficiency and improve overall video quality.
Requirements:
Sports Fanatic.
Strong writer and visual storyteller.
Minimum of 2-5 years experience in segment/video producing in high volume, deadline-driven environment.
Demonstrated story-telling skills utilizing talent, images and events.
Working knowledge of digital post-production process using Adobe and Apple software.
Proven skills in working with and developing talent in a team setting.
