About the Seller Development Team
Part of Etsy?s larger Member Operations Team, Seller Development is at the front lines developing content and programs that empower our 850,000 active sellers to successfully run their businesses. We use many delivery methods to provide educational content - from blog posts, to webinars, to in person workshops, we try and cultivate sustainable education by promoting peer to peer education. We have an integrated approach to learning that engages our community no matter what stage they are in their business development.
About the Seller Development Intern Position
Our intern supports the work of the whole Seller Development Team by providing assistance on all levels of event projects. You will need to be fast paced and able to multi-task. You may go from greeting sellers at an event to updating a budget and shipping swag - so be adaptable and friendly in the face of change. You will not only help organize and execute some of our programming, but also track project success metrics and feedback on a monthly basis. Some of your tasks will be shipping promos, updating event budgets, reporting on offsite events success and reach as well as training internal staff. This role focuses on supporting our outreach to our community, so handling event logistics and details is key. You will be working with us in the Brooklyn office, 40 hours a week for this paid, 6-month internship. You will assist with outreach to and professional development of sellers across our event channels. You will report to the Seller Education Manager.
You should be:
An avid user of the internet with an advanced level of computer literacy;
Knowledgeable about Etsy: site policies, do?s and don?ts, know our terms and our community;
A superior communicator via online and face-to-face conversation;
Able to plan and execute multiple projects from beginning to end while maintaining a high attention to detail;
Pro-active and able to anticipate what needs to be done next;
Comfortable with numbers, data and metrics;
Patient with a good sense of humor;
Eager to learn, grow and do anything it takes to complete a task;
A superior communicator via email and face-to-face conversation.
Your Tasks will include:
Packing and shipping promos
Event research and execution offsite
Staffing Etsy events as well as training other admin to staff Etsy events
Update tracking and budget for all events and report on progress
Manage our event tools like Eventbrite, Flickr, Event Calendar and inbox
Collect and report on event feedback
Moderation of our Etsy Success Team
An experienced Etsy seller or community member
Has attended an Etsy event (like Craft Night, Etsy Speaker Series, a craft fair, etc.)
Has experience teaching
