Summary: Questar Assessment, Inc., a leading provider of K-12 educational assessment services, seeks a Senior Account Executive to drive sales opportunities in the State of New York. Efforts will focus on sales of services to streamline and support NY school districts and Regional Information Centers in the logistics, scanning, and manual scoring of constructed responses for Regents, NYSESLAT, and Grades 3-8 assessments. Because this key position will be responsible for maintaining and expanding current accounts and developing and acquiring new accounts, we are looking for an experienced individual in the assessment industry with the motivation and drive to consistently meet or exceed target sales quotas in a competitive environment. The Senior Account Executive may work out of our office in Brewster, NY or work remotely in the New York area. Approximately 75% travel within the State of New York is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identify new markets and business opportunities through networking and cold calling to meet or exceed sales quotas and increase revenue growth
Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota in support of corporate objectives
Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers, and engage potential customers to develop new business
Collaborate with internal partners on existing accounts to implement and maintain business continuity, quality, production and customer service standards as well as keep updated on the status of projects
Develop customer quotes, proposals and contracts, and ensure accurate pricing, delivery and specifications to clients
Negotiate the terms of closing sales, agreements and contracts
Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on future buying and trends
Provide advice on product developments, sales strategies, sales system improvements and special promotions
Report on sales, orders and project status to sales management team
Represent Questar at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor?s or advanced degree in Education or related field
4-7 years of experience in a sales or operational role in the education assessment industry
Knowledge of student assessment, test processing and scoring
Outstanding relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong student assessment industry awareness, including a deep understanding of NY districts? processes for logistics, scanning, processing, and handscoring of NYSED tests
Understanding of processes for test document image- and data-capture scanning of multiple-choice and constructed responses, as well as understanding of computer/image-based handscoring systems
Established network of connections with NY school districts and RICs
