Position Summary
The Account Director, Commercial Sector will be responsible for supporting the Company?s commercial managed account (i.e. Fortune 5000 companies) strategy through management of all business development, sales and account operations within their territory. The primary focus of the position will be to identify, target, retain, develop and manage new business as the company seeks to expand its commercial sector presence, driving achievement of the company?s customer acquisition and revenue goals in that sector.
Key Objectives
Identify and retain key targets and prospects within the commercial sector.
Grow customers from pilots to broad-based usage of the FedBid marketplace.
Develop and implement key initiatives to achieve greater utilization of the FedBid Marketplace within existing commercial buying organizations.
Successfully engage the FedBid market operations teams to drive consistent value for customers from their use of the FedBid marketplace.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
Develop portfolio of customers to deliver at least $1.5MM in annual revenue to FedBid.
Manage sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
Engage FedBid partners, sales channels and alliances as appropriate to generate increased volume on FedBid marketplace
Liaise with other internal corporate organizations.
Confer with Commercial leadership to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals and objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
Manage and/or mentor regionally-based account operations resources.
Participate in regional conferences and industry events to support FedBid commercial messaging and marketing goals.
Contribute to thought-leadership and other marketing efforts that promote tail spend management, reverse auctions, and the FedBid marketplace.
Candidate Profile
Proven entrepreneur with experience in successful business development and organizational growth.
Established contacts and relationships with potential customers and channel partners.
Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners evidenced by a proven record of success.
Demonstrated ability to manage ongoing customer programs that drive value for customer and revenue for the Company.
Current and relevant knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors and leading customer strategies related to sourcing, supply chain management, corporate purchasing, and e-commerce.
Ability to remain proactive, resourceful and flexible in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
Excellent work ethic, including tireless effort, attention to detail, strong customer focus and an exemplary level of professionalism.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.
10+ years experience in sourcing, sales management, or management consulting.
MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
