We're seeking a Senior Accountant for our growing team supporting North American operations from our Berwyn, PA headquarters (suburban Philadelphia).
This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for providing comprehensive technical accounting knowledge and research to accurately conclude accounting matters for various business activities.
The Senior Accountant will also participate in accounting functions including:
Monthly general ledger close (80 offices across NA)
Balance sheet and income statement analysis
Internal and external financial reporting
Internal control compliance (including SOX)
Day to day activities may include:
Work on special accounting related projects (IPO readiness including financial reporting control gap assessment, design review, and control implementation)
Responsible for managing, directing, and developing staff accountants, including interns from time to time
External quarterly and annual GAAP reporting
Documentation work including process flowcharts and process maps
Analysis of IT General Controls and the completeness and accuracy of system generated reports
Development/management of effective external relationships, including primary technical relationship with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of the annual financial statements
Financial accounting advisory support to Business Units
Relationships with Finance & Tax on accounting issues and their impact on business activities, including assistance in the application of accounting policy on an as needed basis
Creation and execution of processes and controls to improve documentation and workflows
Subject matter expert advice on accounting related projects, documentation of critical accounting policies
Performing as initiative lead in addressing issues and recommendations provided by internal audit, external auditors and regulators
Ad hoc reports and analyses
A ModSpace Senior Accountant must have:
A Bachelor?s degree (or higher) in Accounting
A minimum of 3 years? experience in a public accounting audit firm
with at least 1 year in a senior associate or supervisory role
Broad general accounting knowledge, including FASB and GAAP regulations
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to prioritize workload, handle multi-task situations and coordinate efforts across functions
The below qualifications are strongly Preferred:
CPA status or progress towards this status
Leasing industry and/or other financial services industry experience
Familiarity with Oracle accounting software
Experience with IPO Readiness & SOX compliance initiatives

PC Proficiency in a Windows environment with MS Office Suite
