OrthoAccel Technologies, Inc. (OA), founded in 2007 and located in Houston, TX, is a venture?backed medical device company. It is engaged in the development and commercialization of a product?line of dental appliances. Its technology accelerates bone?remodeling to reduce the duration required to complete orthodontic treatment.
The Senior Accountant is a critical contributor to the accounting department and reports directly to the Controller. This position has an active involvement in the month end close process and is responsible for account reconciliation, financial review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts. This position also has responsibility for tax compliance activities and will have limited controllership responsibilities for the sales and marketing functions. As a member of the finance and administration team, this position will also play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the company?s automated business systems to support the company?s evolving business system requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the month end close process and support monthly close activities
Maintain and support strong financial controls and procedures
Prepare financial statements, financial reports, special analyses
Prepare periodic sales analysis and performance metrics, including variable compensation
Interact with department managers to provide support for planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations
Work in cross?functional teams to support business objectives
Develop expertise and maintain a high degree of ownership in ERP systems supporting accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and planning, sales and marketing CRM applications and other applications as required
Work with various departments to develop process improvements and controls
Work with other departments to aid in preparing accurate annual budget plans and monthly reforecasts
Actual to plan variance analysis
Special projects as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
5+ years in accounting/financial operations, preferably in a regulated industry
Strong knowledge of integrated business systems
High proficiency in Excel
Strong communication skills
