SENIOR ACCOUNTANT The Rubicon Project
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Senior Accountant at the Rubicon Project will support Accounting and Finance by performing day to day accounting tasks, account analysis, and month end closing activities, with the goal of producing accurate financial statements while adhering to appropriate internal controls and meeting deadlines.
Understand underlying business and related processes as foundation for responsibilities
Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, i.e. prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and roll-forward schedules
Assist with analyzing and researching income statement and balance sheet fluctuations, and provide commentary for management reporting
Prepare journal entries based on review of supporting reconciliations and schedules
Assess and book monthly capitalization of internally developed software, including assessment of projects for appropriate capitalization, update/maintain project schedules and reconcile to general ledger
Review AP reports and general ledger detail for coding discrepancies and propose re-classes as needed
Support Accounting Manager with various process improvement projects, including the implementation of policies, procedures, and controls
Perform ad hoc reviews and analysis, as needed
Provide backup and support for staff accountant and accounting manager, as needed
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business, with at least 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting.
Highly detailed and deadline-oriented, with the ability to prioritize, focus and thrive in a high paced multi-tasking environment.
Strong verbal and written skills along with good interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong Excel skills required
Public company experience and knowledge of internal controls preferred
Experience with Oracle Financials preferred
Experience in the technology industry a plus
