Senior Accountant - New Products Finance Zillow

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager-New Products Finance. The Senior Accountant-New Products Finance is a newly created role at Zillow, part of the New Products Finance team that will be responsible for preparation, documentation, and testing of Financial Reporting and Accounting requirements of business initiatives impacting new and existing revenue generating product lines. This individual will work directly with the Zillow Finance, Business Intelligence, Product, Engineering and Compliance teams to help coordinate, define and execute against Finance and Accounting functional/technical requirements impacting both revenue and the Zillow ERP, Microsoft Dynamics. The individual will also prepare processes, test plans, help ensure Sarbanes-Oxley readiness, reporting and knowledge transfer to key finance team personal. This role will be hands on working to ensure financial reporting readiness for new and current revenue product lines into our accounting platform and will document, organize and work with cross-functional teams from conceptual stages through product development life cycles.
BA/BS with a concentration in Finance, Accounting or Information Systems.
Experience in preparing functional specifications documentation for internal reporting related projects, preferred.
Minimum 3+ years in Big 4 Accounting/Consulting firm and/or Internal audit at publicly traded company.
Prior experience working for a high-tech, high-growth, or e-commerce company.
Must submit to a background check.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and business intelligence knowledge.
Must be systems savvy and have the ability and drive to learn.
SQL experience, a plus.
Advanced Excel skills, with interest and aptitude to work with large amounts of data.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
Must be a self-starter and enjoys hands on responsibilities, with a mind geared towards process improvements.
Strong understanding of US GAAP.
Impeccable organization, verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.
Experience participating in a monthly accounting close process.
Experience working with auditors and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
Prepare and test the integration of new and current revenue products from the product development phase through financial reporting.
Participate in the development of process documentation for revenue streams that are required for project deployment.
Preparation of complex revenue accounting issues to support compliance with applicable authoritative literature.
Assist with new product revenue accounting processes, month-end journal entry preparation, analysis, and reconciliations.
Evaluate and highlight financial, systematic, and operational risks.
Work with variety of internal teams to ensure seamless integration of financial and reporting requirements.
