The Senior Accountant/ Payroll Administrator is responsible for management of full cycle payroll for approximately 275 U.S. employees and 3 Canadian employees. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Candidates should have the skills listed below as well as have the ability to work in a constantly changing environment, have worked with system implementations and/or conversions, be process improvement oriented and have experience setting up payrolls in locations outside of the U.S.
Performs all activities necessary to process 1 or more payrolls, including maintaining related records, through our outsourced payroll provider ADP
Coordinates the filing of tax reports and voluntary deduction reports with ADP, and processes related wire payments
Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
Processes involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments
Prepares accounting entries and related documentation for payroll transactions
Documents and updates policies and procedures related to payroll
Prepares special reports and analyses for management
Serves as back-up for Stock Administration
Cross-trains designated back-up to administer and process payroll
Acts as liaison with ADP and other internal and external partners in the resolution of payroll problems/errors
Provides support for payroll-related external reporting requirements
Provides support for financial statement and payroll audits
Performs other non-payroll accounting transactions as assigned
Prepares account reconciliations for other non-payroll accounting areas as assigned
Education and experience:
At a minimum 5 years of payroll experience
Advanced experience with ADP
Bachelors or Associate's degree or equivalent training
Knowledge of Equity awards and related taxation
Skills & Certification:
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
CPP designation preferred
Excellent communication skills
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with Equity Edge online
Great Plains system experience preferred
Attention to detail
Ability to efficiently perform duties and meet deadlines
