Summary
Primary responsibilities include customer billing, fixed asset accounting, month-end reporting, and audit support in compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. Experience accounting for operations of a U.S. government contractor is helpful as well as knowledge of international financial reporting standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Create invoices for commercial customers within 5 days of shipping.
Create and input invoices to the U.S. Federal government in accordance with FAR and contract requirements.
Review sales orders and contracts to be able to bill in accordance with specified terms.
Assist with quarterly inventory counts.
Maintain fixed asset detail and the related depreciation schedule.
Assist with monthly and quarterly close including the following: preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts to the general ledger.
Assist with annual financial audit and other audits as needed such as sales tax, voucher, and insurance audits.
Assist with corporate income tax return preparation, sales and use tax filing, and various other governmental filings.
Assist in ensuring compliance with Raydiance policies and procedures; checking for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
Assist with other cost accounting issues and inventory accounting issues.
Act as the backup for other members of the accounting team.
Maintain complete confidentiality at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Leadership Skills
BA or BS degree in accounting
5 + years of accounting experience in manufacturing
Solid accounting background with knowledge of how an accounting transaction affects the GL and details of the balance sheet and income statements.
Having both industry experience and public accounting experience are a plus.
Strong computer skills including intermediate to advanced Excel and Outlook skills.
Must have strong communication and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
Ability to formulate solutions to problems that arise.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Knowledge of Vantage accounting software is a plus.
