A leading online media company has an opportunity for a talented individual to join the Company?s finance function, in this newly created role. The Company continues to experience significant growth, both organically and through acquisition, and may complete an initial public offering within the next few years.

Reporting to the Manager, Billing and Collections, this position will be responsible for certain day to day operations of the revenue and partnership reporting area. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically-savvy, detail oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills as well as familiarity with billings, collections, and revenue recognition. Key responsibilities and requisite skills/ experience include:
Review insertion orders/ contractual agreements to evaluate proper revenue recognition, including review of advertising delivery data for consistency with the insertion order/ agreement limitations. Perform monthly revenue and deferred revenue calculations.
Issuance of invoices in accordance with terms of insertion orders/ contractual agreements.
Reviewing potential customer accounts for credit worthiness and assisting with enhancing the timeliness of our collection efforts.
Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including A/R and deferred revenue.
Assistance with the quarterly commissions process.
Assistance with special projects, including external audits and other initiatives.
The successful candidate will exhibit the following:
The successful candidate has hands on billing/invoicing experience, garnered through 5+ years in private/public industry.
This individual should have strong excel skills (i.e., pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).
He/she will be familiar with GAAP accounting and revenue recognition (i.e. SAB 104).
He/she should be highly motivated, an independent thinker and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills. This role will require working closely with the Sales Department.
Knowledge of Great Plains and Salesforce is a plus, but not required.
Experience with an emerging businesses, media, and/or the internet/publishing industry is preferred.
