The Senior Accountant will work under the direction of the Director of Finance and perform a myriad of accounting functions. This position will exercise a high level of independence, accountability, teamwork, good judgment and attention to detail. The Senior Accountant must be able to work independently, as well as within a team environment in order to provide outstanding service to our employees and vendors. This person should be organized, have strong analytical skills, be personable, perseverant, and interested in learning the details of our business.
? Assist with month-end close processes, including recording monthly journal entries, timely preparation and review of month-end reconciliations and monthly financial reporting.
? Work with our subsidiaries in Chile and the Netherlands to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
? Performing daily accounting tasks, including assisting with banking transactions, GL coding of invoices, credit cards, expenses reports, and review of weekly check runs
? Assist with preparing for financial statement audits, including pulling documentation, preparing audit schedules, and tying out financial statements
? Assist with various accounting initiatives, including new system implementations and enhancements
? Improve our internal controls and work processes to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy of monthly financial reporting
? Prepare timely and accurate departmental reports, including analysis of monthly expenses vs. budgets
? Use accounting concepts, experience, analytical skills, and industry knowledge to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
? Provide creativity and critical thinking, which inspires innovation and propels team members beyond the status quo
? Work closely with our operations team, sales team, and customers to ensure accurate records and timely customer payments.
? Assist with payroll and related tax payments/reports.
? Assist with quarterly state tax reporting and preparation of annual tax return
? Various ad hoc projects.
? Bachelors degree, preferably in accounting or finance
? CPA - Preferred
? 3-6 years relevant accounting experience
? 1-3+ years public accounting experience ? preferred (Big 4 experience is a plus)
? Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
? Must be a self-starter and able to work in a demanding, high-stress environment,balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
? Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
? Ability to manage change, accepting the challenges in managing our fast paced growth.
? Strong computer skills including MS office and QuickBooks Enterprise
