Job Description:
The primary role of the Assistant Vice President/Vice President - Life, is to assist the senior Advisory Services personnel in preparing analyses of insurance company operations to support the development of customized investment strategies for those companies. The AVP/VP will prepare financial models using TAS or ALFA, interpret the results, and place them into an appropriate reporting format.
Essential Responsibilities -
?Develop a working knowledge of Conning?s ALM and DFA modeling tools.
?Collect and organize the data needed to create financial models.
?Analyze the insurance operations of clients and prospects using these models.
?Perform efficient frontier, duration and cash flow analysis in order to develop investment strategy recommendations based on the clients financial objectives and risk tolerance.
?Present a summary of the work done and the resulting recommendations in the appropriate reporting format for asset management clients and sales prospects.
?Work with portfolio managers to provide advisory services to asset management clients.
?Conduct peer analysis for clients and prospects using statutory filing data
?Support client?s annual cash flow testing by creating asset projections of company?s fixed income portfolios using BondEdge.
Requirements -
?Bachelor?s degree in finance, insurance, mathematics, actuarial science, accounting, economics, or a related field.
?4-10 years of experience in the insurance or financial industries
?4-10 years of actuarial experience
?Progress on a relevant professional designation, such as a FSA, CFA, FRM, preferred
?Experience with ALFA and/or TAS, Microsoft Office and Visual Basic.
?Experience with Asset modeling using BondEdge
?Strong analytical and communication skills.
?Ability to work in a team environment.
?Ability to work well in a project and deadline oriented position.
?Ability to deliver a high level of client satisfaction, through the delivery of high quality work on a timely basis.
?Ability to deliver a high level of senior advisor satisfaction.
Position is responsible for analyses as well as the support the development of customized investment strategies. Position will also prepare financial models using TAS or ALFA, interpret the results, and place them into an appropriate reporting format.
The analyst will be responsible for identifying errors, resolving those issues, and communicating the impact to all affected parties. The Analyst will receive guidance and direction from his/her manager, in addition to their work being reviewed by sr. mgmt.
