SENIOR ANALYST, HOSTING TheInfoPro
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED
451 Research, a division of the 451 Group, is looking for a Senior Analyst to become an integral member of our Hosting coverage team. The ideal candidate is an expert in Managed Hosting and has spent at least five years working for or with one or more hosting or colocation providers. The Senior Analyst is expected to produce research content for the Daily T1R product, as well as producing longer special reports on topics of interest to our clients. The Senior Analyst will also participate in 451 conferences as a speaker and panel moderator, as well as engaging in light consulting work for our customers.
A typical day would include spending time on the phone with customers, receiving briefings from vendors on new products, planning upcoming conferences, and writing syndicated research content. There is a strong career path, including upward mobility to more senior roles.
This is a challenging position for a self-directed individual who wants to become an integral part of the top research team covering hosting, datacenters and Internet content delivery. The responsibilities given to the person filling this role will be significant, and limited only by that individual's abilities. There will be exposure to client executive teams (including CEOs), which is significantly career-enhancing.
The ideal candidate is a literate, self-directed, well-spoken and hard-working individual with a strong technical background in IT. Please do not apply if you don't enjoy writing, presenting and independently researching interesting technologies, or working with industry thought leaders with strong opinions and personalities.
This position is roughly equivalent to a Director-level product management or engineering job, and involves a similar level of responsibility, in terms of both positioning and budget.
Qualifications
Technical BS degree (Math, Science, Engineering, MIS, IT) or MBA.
Three to five years of experience in product management, technical architecture, sales engineering or other in-depth experience in one or more of the following areas: datacenters, Internet peering, hosting and hosted services, and colocation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong skills with Excel and PowerPoint.
