Position: Senior Application Administrator
Location: Brookfield, WI - 6 miles west of Milwaukee

The Senior Application Administrator is a go-to person for a wide variety of issues. In this role you will need to apply your existing knowledge of J2EE platforms in new ways, from security testing to load testing to proof of concept environments. You will be communicating with a wide variety of people with a wide variety of technical abilities and disciplines so good documentation and communication skills are critical to succeeding in this role.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Works with Client Technical Leads and Product Developers to support Connectures products on multiple application server platforms (JBoss, Websphere, and Weblogic) in both hosted and installed environments.
Works closely with Client Technical Leads, Product Developers, and Database Administrators to analyze and resolve a variety of issues.
Works within Hosting Services on setupconfigurationarchitecture of the application server clusters on Windows 2003 and 2008 servers in Connecture-hosted solutions.
Works with Connectures clients to install and support the Connecture application in a variety of OS and platform configurations, usually Linux/Solaris and Websphere.
Provides support for deployments to our hosting facility and for installed solutions.
Supports Connectures production hosted clients by providing 24x7 support as part of the Hosting Services team. This includes a turn in the on the on-call rotation and possibly serving as an escalation point for other application server-related issues.
Provides hardware and software support for Connectures employees and project teams.
Works with the hosting vendor to maintain and support the production hosting environment.
Provides load testing support to Connectures client teams including scripting, execution, and reporting.
Provide support and interpretation of application security scanning results.
Proactively test and tune Connectures product on new platforms, and work with Connectures product team to prove new concepts and functionality.
Documenting processes and tasks for internal people on the Connecture Wiki, and writing detailed, professional-quality documentation for our clients.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
5+ years experience with administrating Jboss, WebSphere and/or WebLogic application servers.
Experience with Solaris and Linux.
Experience with Windows 2003 and 2008 required.
Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills and an ability to understand thread dumps, heap dumps, and error messages.
A firm understanding of networking concepts like switching, routing, VPN, and load balancing.
3+ years managing web servers like IIS and
Apache, including SSL.
Experience with Jakarta Jmeter preferred.
Experience with VMWare setup and configuration preferred.
Strong documentation skills!
A good understanding or a keen interest in web-based application security vulnerabilities such as the OWASP top ten.
Client facing/Professional Services experience preferred.
A solid understanding of database platforms and concepts.
Able to lead internal projects with little oversight.
The ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members.
The ability to work independently and adjust to changing priorities.
