Summary:
This position is for a application developers/software engineers integrating situational awareness, at-a-glance analysis, decision support, collaboration as well as other core capabilities.
The software engineer will assist in the design and coding of software product components, units and modules according to contract specifications. They could participate in the analysis and development of test plans and test assigned components and units. The software engineer, if testing, will be required to provide test results and recommendation for corrections to senior developers.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline
Experience:
Zero to four or more years of experience in full life cycle software development and overseeing software development efforts.
Skills:
Software Language and environment experience will include knowledge of:
Java, JEE, Hibernate, JBoss, GWT, Flex, JavaScript, Echo2, JUnit, Spring, Eclipse, IDE, OOD experience.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills
Able to work independently and in a team environment
Licensures, Certifications:
Certification might be required, depending on program requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following:
Full lifecycle Web application development
Under close to limited supervision designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages.
Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
Software modeling and simulation
Front end graphical user interface design
Software testing and quality assurance
Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
Support, maintain and document software functionality
Integrate software with existing systems
Participates in writing product and user documentation
Requires team project experience working with end users to develop custom applications in Java/J2EE. Specific software languages and design skills include: Java, Swing, Unit testing. We have openings for back end, web services, and Ozone Widget Framework (OWF) developers. OWF can be learned on the job.
Desired skills: OpenGL, Spring, Groovy, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, GIS applications
