Senior Application Engineers - CAE Exa
POSITION PROFILE:Exa Corporation seeks experienced mechanical engineers to fill senior technical leadership positions in Boston and Detroit, providing expertise and support to our growing customer base. We are particularly interested in candidates with engineering experience in the automotive or heavy truck industry and technical expertise in vehicle aerodynamics, thermal management, or aeroacoustics. You will report directly to the Technical Director, Heavy Vehicles North America , and work in a dynamic environment with significant opportunity for career growth.
As a Senior Application Engineer you will:
- Become an expert in Exa?s PowerFLOW software and heavy vehicle customer applications
- Work directly with our customer?s product development teams on a variety of projects from
- Develop and present strong technical analysis and design recommendations
- Be customer-focused, very responsive and develop a strong level of trust with customers
- Act as a key link between our customers and Exa?s product development team
- Provide pre-sales support to the sales team in the locally assigned region
- Be eligible for full base salary and additional variable compensation based on team and territory revenue performance

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years experience using CFD tools and/or conducting experimental studies particularly in the area of vehicle Aerodynamics or Thermal Management
- Solid knowledge of fluid dynamic fundamentals.
- Outstanding English communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with Unix environment and scripting
- Strong desire for continuous learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to apply these skills cooperatively in a team of experienced professionals.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25% domestic).
Additional Skills:
- Experience with commercial CFD software is a plus.
- Familiarity with Unix environment and scripting
- Experience with common CAD or Geometry Tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with other CAE applications
