Senior Application Support Engineer Operative

Operative is looking for smart, energetic and technically strong engineers to work as Sr. Application Support Engineers. Your problem solving skills will be applied to work with a cross-functional team consisting of Consultants, Engineers and Customer Support to quickly resolve technical application questions and issues. You will have the opportunity to learn about the digital advertising domain and make a significant contribution to customer success and adoption of the Operative.One platform.
Triage, evaluate and recommend short-term and long-term solutions to customer issues that have been identified as a product development defects.
Recommend to product development teams areas of improvement in performance and feature capabilities that will improve our customers' successful use of our products.
Build and automate tools to identify integration issues proactively
Deliver innovative solutions to complicated business problems.
Mentor and collaborate with other developers on your team.
Technical contributor to software projects.
Implement software products, enhancements, issue resolutions based on provided functional specifications.
Understand and keep up to date on the latest product functionality, its dependencies, the underlying technology stack and their operational impact
Monitor and manage back-end batch processes to ensure application uptime requirements
Work with a cross functional team to understand the root cause of issues reported and suggest alternate options where appropriate
Work with the Development team to create support tools and utilities to automate common tasks
Provide liaison support between various operating departments and their support staff
Strong relational database skills are essential. Should have written complex queries for a database such as MySql, Postgres, MSSql or Oracle
Familiarity with stored procedures
Extensive experience with shell scripting on UNIX platforms
Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle
Experience with job schedulers, monitoring tools and log processing tools
Working closely with the development team to continuously improve the automated claim reflow processes.
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Math or in a relevant field
Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate customer issues as required
Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure with limited supervision
Solid understanding of Internet technologies: firewalls, web servers, web proxy servers, etc.
Demonstrated analysis, problem solving and skills troubleshooting expertise
Knowledge of and/or experience with the one of following technologies: Java, Java Script PHP,
Aptitude to get up to speed with new products quickly.
Should enjoy researching challenging problems and suggesting solutions
Strong team player with good communication skills
Exposure to ITIL based change control management and process.
Experience with advertising related technologies is a plus
