Senior Application Technologist - Battery #171 Nanosys

Background:

Nanosys manufactures novel anode materials for Li-ion batteries that increase the anode specific capacity up to a factor of five.

Major Responsibilities:

The position is technical in nature with focus on applications engineering. The primary role will be to anticipate, identify and close on the technical issues in customer opportunities. You will be the technical face to the customer and will work with Nanosys? engineering team and third parties to make recommendations, resolve design issues and close on production-ready, high performance solutions for the customer (Includes 30%+ travel to customer and third party sites).

MARKETS

We work with customers producing Li-ion batteries for diverse applications in the energy as well as power spaces. You will use your knowledge to assist these customers in the implementation of our proprietary Li-ion anode materials to achieve the longest possible cycle life, optimal efficiency and power performance.

Requirements:

B.S in Chemistry or related field, advanced degree is a plus.
5+ years experience in areas of field and customer applications support.
3+ years experience in battery technology.
Must have a thorough understanding of battery chemistry and cell/battery-level integration.
Ability to cross communicate clearly between customers and Nanosys engineering.
Must have a track record of working well with customers, ultimately leading to successful products in the customers marketplace.
Demonstrable history of successful product introduction and application problem solving in battery systems.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Must have a sales-savvy attitude.
Fluency in Mandarin and Korean is desired.
