Senior Applications Engineer ClariPhy Communications
Job Description
ClariPhy seeks a full-time experienced Senior Applications Engineer to provide support to core customers for its current 40G and future 100G IC products. The successful candidate will join a world-class Applications Engineering team to work with ClariPhys customers to develop and implement solutions that integrate Clariphys single chip CMOS transceivers into customer products. In this role, you will become an expert in the architecture of 40G and 100G fiber optic tranceiver ICs. You will work closely with customers and to provide pre-sales and post-sales support for these devices. You will also work closely with the engineering team to resolve technical issues that arise in customer applications. You will help secure customer design wins and and work closely with customers to ensure their products successfully incorporate our transceiver ICs. The successful candidate will participate in many of the following activities:
Engage closely with sales, product engineering, systems engineering, and customer personnel to bring up new transceiver platforms at customer sites, troubleshoot customer prototypes, and develop solutions for customer applications.
Integrate, test, and debug hardware using bench top setups in ClariPhy laboratories and at customer sites, and work with the product and systems engineering teams to develop scripts that optimize performance.
Work closely with customers to ensure successful schematic and layout design reviews.
Develop end-user documentation including data sheets, design guidelines, hardware errata, and application notes.
Play a critical role in developing and fostering strong, positive customer relationships that grow ClariPhys business.
Provide pre-sales and post-sales support via email, phone, and customer visits to national and world-wide customer sites.
Required Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have 5 to 15+ years experience in the semiconductor industry, and demonstrated experience working with high-speed digital and mixed signal electronics, including complex DSP. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in optical communications for enterprise and/or telecommunication networks. In addition, the ideal candidate will have skills and experience in many of the following areas:
Ability to work in the field as a technical representative of the company.
Prior experience with SFI 5.1 and OTN (G.709). Additional experience with SONET/SDH, Gbit Ethernet, and 10 Gbit Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) is a plus.
Experience in hardware/firmware bringup, including the use of graphical user interfaces and scripts for hardware control and automation.
Experience in register level programming of complex hardware devices and debugging complex hardware problems.
