Senior Applications Engineer with an emphasis in embedded video systems
Position Summary:
Senior Applications Engineers are responsible for the management and resolution of any and all technical issues within their assigned region. This includes pre- and post-sales support, and internal marketing support.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide front line post-sales support to customers for standard PC add-in video card products and embedded design support for Stretch's industry-leading family of software configurable processors. This includes:
Understanding and debugging issues related to PC add-in cards.
Debugging both standard and custom embedded software for both DSP and ARM Linux processors.
Acting as the primary coordinator for the efficient and mutually beneficial resolution of technical issues. Stake holders include: sales, field applications, marketing, and engineering. Excellent tactical organization, and negotiating and communication skills are required. Attention to detail is crucial.
The development of influential and thought provoking technical sales presentations.
Creating and presenting engaging and informative training courses for both Stretch customers and field personnel.
Act as a technical resource to product marketing for: trade show booth staffing, the development of datasheets, applications notes, installation and user guides, power calculators, and other support and marketing literature.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years supporting or developing embedded: hardware, software (control code, application code or DSP algorithm development). Software development skills should include the ability to program on both "the bare metal" and embedded Linux. Experience with low-level drivers for PCI Express, USB, and other peripherals is highly desirable.
Experience debugging sophisticated video systems in areas such as PCI Express, DDR2/3, I2S, and I2C.
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Candidates should be available to travel one week/month with an occasional requirement to travel two weeks/month.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in usability and quality testing of embedded software and design tool flows
ARM Linux development tool flow expertise
Experience in video surveillance software/systems, video CODECs (H.264, MPEG4, MJPEG) or Image Signal Processing (ISP) expertise.
Proficiency in second language.
Education:
BSEE/CS or equivalent; MSEE/CS preferred.
