Job Summary:
The Sr. Architect within the Professional Services Organization designs and develops technical solutions for customer product deployments with an emphasis on systems and data integration. This person will be responsible for the requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and support of configured and integrated sourcing and enterprise contract management solutions. The position requires working as part of a team to understand requirements and specifications, developing sizing estimates, writing code to specification, and participating in customer led end-to-end user acceptance testing. As this is a customer facing position, qualified candidate will have 4 or more years experience in architecting solutions and 3 to 7 years experience in a software development role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical discussions and propose solutions for customer deployments
- Create technical specifications for implementing software components that are delivered to defined functional requirements. This will require interactions with customers and/or their representatives, as well as with others within the Emptoris Professional Services and Sales organizations.
- Independently develop and code software components in accordance with the specifications.
- Interact professionally with customer developers in support of their use of Emptoris Integration Technologies.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through quality solutions development and consultative support of customer deployment and development efforts.
- Assess and troubleshoot software issues to resolve production issues with delivered code.
- Support on-site testing and/or problem resolution at specified customer locations.
Required Experience:
- OOD/OOA experience
- Web development experience
- Multi-tiered development experience
- HTML/DHTML JavaScript, JSP and Java (OOP) and servlet experience
- SQL/RDBMS experience
- XML (DOM/SAX) experience
- GUI/UI development experience
- Knowledge/use of web server technologies (preferably MS IIS, Apache, and/or Netscape)
- Knowledge/use of a servlet engine technology (preferably JRUN and Weblogic)
- Knowledge/use of an application server technology and its tools (preferably WebSphere and Weblogic)
- Knowledge/use of LoadRunner a plus
- Understanding of software development life cycle practices and tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Consulting experience (systems integration or custom web application development)
Education:
- BS in Computer Science or Equivalent
- MS in Computer Science a plus
Travel:
- Up to 25 travel may be required.
