About the PositionThe Senior Architect will be a key member of the global team driving research and development of 24/7?s PX platform. The Architect will extend 24/7?s technology leadership through aggressive innovation that improves the customer experience, broadens the range of automatable journeys, and transforms development of enterprise applications.
Responsibilities include the architecture and implementation of one or more of the following: multi-modal interaction platform, mobile platform, application development framework, big data infrastructure, and cloud management services. Research and development areas include multi-modal user interfaces, behavioral modeling, predictive analytics, data mining, machine learning and natural language processing.
Successful candidates will have a computer science or related degree, expert level knowledge in Java/OO technologies, and 8+ years of experience engineering commercial software platforms, consumer-facing applications, and large scale application infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of technical creativity, problem solving ability, software process and lifecycle expertise, design skills, communication skills, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with enterprise mobile applications or big data a plus.
The position is based in Campbell or Alameda, CA.
Responsibilities
Architect, design and develop major platform systems and components
Work with Product Management and User Experience teams to envision and create the next generation of user interfaces for customer service
Work with Product Management, Client Services, Sales and Marketing teams to define platform and application strategy
Research emerging technologies related to customer experience, such as multi-modal user interfaces, natural language processing, speech recognition and predictive analytics
Requirements
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
5+ years of software architecture experience with overall commercial software development experience of 8+ years
Java/C++ design and development knowledge including:
Java libraries and tools
Web technologies, including web services
Large-scale, high availability production web application infrastructure
Good knowledge of SQL/RDBMS
Development lead experience in a SaaS or packaged software company
Pluses
2+ years? experience building mobile applications (iOS and/or Android)
Experience using big data platforms and tools such as: Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, HBase, Pig, Flume, Sqoop, Oozie
Knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies (e.g., HTML5, Ajax, GWT)
Familiarity with speech technologies: VoiceXML, grammars, ASR, audio processing (filtering, equalization, dynamic range compression, data compression, streaming)
Familiarity with machine learning techniques and tools (e.g., Mahout)
Familiarity with IP telephony technologies
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., MapReduce, distributed data stores, data warehousing, data mining)
