Our PX platform - the world?s largest self-service platform - leverages big data, mobile, web and speech technologies to analyze, predict and complete over 2.5B annual customer interactions.247 Inc. is seeking a Systems Architect to design its next generation Cloud platform. The role requires the architect to engage with the development team, service engineers and business leaders to understand the product direction, then deliver the next generation infrastructure to support it. Key initiatives include designing a private cloud, streamlining current public cloud in Amazon (AWS), and scaling the big data platform build on Hadoop.
The most successful candidates for this role will have a background in creating carrier grade services with uptimes exceeding 99.99%, experience in running cloud services--using both Amazon and private clouds as well as deep UNIX systems knowledge and Networking Skills.
Responsibilities:
?Evaluate industrial technology trends on cloud computing
?Designs and implement Cloud based platform and service to support high-volume mission critical services.
?Perform capacity planning functions and develop operating budgets for private cloud based services
?Coach and mentor other members of the technical staff on emerging technologies
?Produce technical design documentation for the service engineering team
?Be responsible for recommending ways to improve the efficiency of our platform and technologies
?Work closely with engineering and technical leaders located in the US and India
?Communicate to management on high-level business impact issues and technology decisions
?Provide ongoing technical and leadership expertise in supporting the Data
?Center operations, including proactive evaluation of growth and scalability requirements
?Maintain infrastructure design standards, ensure they are documented and up to date, and lead efforts to take new technologies into stack on continual basis as appropriate.
?Experience supporting a wide range of technologies, including open-source, internally developed custom applications, commercial and cloud in an efficient and automated manner
?Experience with automation (Puppet, Chef, etc.) and monitoring (Nagios, Cacti, Ganglia etc.) technologies in production setting
Qualifications:
?10 years of in-depth experience with planning, designing and executing network and system architectures
?Analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
?Understanding of network storage, backup and replication technologies.
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
?Unix (Centos and Solaris) Knowledge
?Virtualization (VMware, Citrix, and Zen)
?Five or more years of experience in architecting cloud-based solutions
?Experience supporting a wide range of technologies, including open-source, internally developed custom applications, commercial and cloud in an efficient and automated manner
?Skilled in automation (Puppet, Chef, etc.) and monitoring (Nagios, Cacti, Ganglia etc.) technologies in production setting
?Proven track-record managing complex multi-site networks
?Capable of integrating and managing open source software
?B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
