The Job:
Gemvara?s mission is to have more loyal customers than any other jeweler. We want everyone who interacts with Gemvara to have the most memorable experience possible, in every sense of the word. That experience begins the first time someone hears about (or sees) Gemvara. As an influential member of our in-house creative agency, you will combine strategic concepts, flawless execution, and your personal creative style and instincts to achieve innovative and compelling creative solutions for all Gemvara creative needs (site, advertising, brand development). You will work closely with the Creative Director, Copywriters, Junior Graphic Designers, Merchandising, UX team, Marketing, Development, and Rendering teams in the development and execution of Gemvara creative will drive our loyal customer base. The right person understands how to balance convention with invention to drive amazing Creative strategy!
What You?ll Do:
Partner with the Creative Director on the concept development and execution of all marketing collateral, advertisements (online and offline), promotions, direct mail, email communications, social media support, and site related creative along with seasonal creative campaigns
Meet with internal clients for project kickoffs/brief reviews and initiate dialogue to effectively understand the strategy and goals of the said initiative
Develop on-brand creative that drives brand awareness and compels people to action
Proactively lead creative programs that advance our brand strategy and identity
Art direct all photography needs when necessary. Includes selecting photographer, producer, talent, stylists, location, props, assisting during the shoot, and managing and executing post production needs to deliver the approved creative direction.
Mentor junior graphic designers
Research and integrate current and projected trends ? design, cultural, fashion, jewelry, editorial, retail, and competitor
Seamlessly integrate into a creative environment marked by innovation and experimentation
Collaborate with the User Experience team to ensure brand Identity principles are being applied to the interaction and feature set of the site experience
Negotiate and facilitate business vendor relationships as needed
Requirements:
Exceptional creative conceptual thinker with the ability to deliver on the ?big idea? with unparalleled execution
Expert level in the latest version of Adobe Creative Suite. Strong ability to compose and manipulate images as needed to best convey the creative vision.
Superior typographic and graphic design skills
Proven experience designing creative for Direct Marketing purposes
Proven experience delivering on-brand creative solutions
Highly customer-focused, versatile, and passionate creative thinker
Understanding of analyzing marketing metrics
Strong understanding of modern ecommerce User Experience principles
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS a plus
Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation communication skills
Organized and detail-oriented
A master at managing multiple projects simultaneously with graceful efficiency to ensure that projects deliver on brand, on strategy, on time, and on budget with flawless execution
Highly motivated team player who is also self-directed
A good sense of humor, a willing attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for compelling creative
Minimum of 8 years working within a renowned and highly creative consumer lifestyle brand(s) ? fashion or luxury brands preferred
Bachelor?s degree in graphic design and/or illustration
