Senior Audio Software Engineer Audience

Job Description

Audience is reverse engineering the human auditory pathway to enable intelligent signal processing for communications speech enhancement and other applications.

Audience is looking for an experienced audio software engineer to assist and support DSP software engineers who are porting audio DSP algorithms for speech enhancement. The candidate would be responsible for writing and maintaining audio processing infrastructure, test and release utilities, and possibly some signal processing modules. The candidate would have to be very comfortable with dealing with digital audio and signal processing concepts on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities

Strong coding skills in C, C++, and assembly.
Strong software engineering design, integration and test methodologies.
Experience with scripting, especially using Perl required.
Experience with gcc and make required.
Experience writing GUI tools and utilities with MFC and Visual Studio required.
Knowledge of digital audio concepts required.
Real-time audio processing experience desirable.
Familiarity with DSP concepts desirable including gain, FFTs, filters, resamplers, etc.
Experience with Matlab desirable.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Able to work independently as well as in teams.
An ability and willingness to juggle multiple assignments, adapt to fast-changing circumstances, and do what it takes to get the job done.

Experience, Skills and Education Required

Minimum of a BS or related in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
At least 5 years experience.
Telecom and/or audio industry experience required
