The business systems analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, business processes, and operations of Accolade and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. In this critical role, you will analyze and represent business opportunities and concerns as detailed requirements, applying your technical knowledge of a business system works in the solving complex problems and creation of functional designs. You are responsible for developing and maintaining specifications and other business/project documentation, proposals, projected costs, and user training or help content. You are committed to learning through feedback and continuous improvement in the service of your customers.
Liaise between stakeholders and the development team(s)
Understand what the business does and how it does it; map, define and maintain new or existing business processes and how they relate to business system workflows
Determine how to improve existing business processes
Determine which tasks/steps to automate and specify the requirements for doing so; manage the business requirements life cycle
Define features and create functional specifications for business systems; maintain system documentation for developer use
Collaborate in the definition and implementation of technical specifications for business systems
Coordinate and perform user acceptance testing of business application systems, report defects and represent their relative priority
Create and maintain end user documentation related to the system for training and end user help
Assist business areas in readiness and preparedness for functional releases
Perform work according to internal standards and identify opportunities to incorporate or apply industry standards and best practices where appropriate
Minimum three years progressive experience in an analyst or development role - health care industry experience preferred.
Experience with consumer facing services or systems and the unique demands that are placed on such systems by end users / stakeholders
Experience with call center related services or systems and the demands that are placed on such systems by end users / stakeholders
A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field; MBA preferred
You possess a sound and deep knowledge of documentation procedures, programming procedures and methods, operator instructions, and program flow charts and can quickly prepare them in ways that are easy for others to understand and directly use
You possess a very strong knowledge of system analysis and workflow management
You demonstrate an ability to work with many tools and systems and have the ability to understand complex database systems and data relationships
