General Description
This position will manage business systems development and/or implementation projects and will be accountable for the accurate and reliable development and utilization of business systems by providing the necessary planning, documentation, training, and procedures.
Will guide the development of business system solutions to problems which are typically ambiguously defined and often the responsibility of more than one department or one group of people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitors and reviews the accuracy, reliability and performance of existing business systems and processes to insure the firm's goals and objectives are met.
Gathers requirements, studies current processes and interviews all levels of the organization in order to establish business systems plans and projects.
Performs feasibility studies and makes project and system recommendations.
Initiates projects to make adjustments, changes or enhancements to the systems or processes as appropriate.
Prepares all reports, documentation and instructions required by the approved development methodology.
Sets individual and/or group objectives based on department and corporate policies and goals.
Prepares and/or provides input into departmental budgets.
Monitors and reviews performance of assigned staff.
Provides guidance and training to the users of the business systems.
Communicates with all levels of organization, as needed, to meet department objectives.
Remains current with developments in information technology and appropriate areas of business.
Works effectively with all BSE employees to meet department and corporate objectives.

Must be analytical, detail oriented and analytical with the ability to multi-task.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Masters Degree preferred, in business, information technology or closely related field. Equivalency based on three years of directly related work experience equals one year of a four year college degree program. Other, non-college education should be considered if directly related.
Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of information systems, the majority of which must be involved with the design, development and implementation of business applications.
Must have recent experience with a GA version of the Oracle eBusiness Suite including installation, upgrading or extending functionality.
Demonstrated ability to code and execute PL-SQL, Discoverer and/or related Oracle table access tools.
Must be experienced with the MS Office suite of applications
Good knowledge of all functional areas of business operations in medium to large firms.
In depth knowledge of one or more specific areas of business.
Experience with one or more formal system development methodologies.
Demonstrated record of accomplishment in the design and development of both large and small systems projects.
