We have an immediate opening for a Senior Business Systems Quality Assurance Engineer in our San Mateo, California headquarters.
Keynote?s Operations group is an exciting, challenging, and fast-paced organization with some of the best technical minds in the industry. We are responsible for building and supporting the world?s largest mobile and Internet test and measurement network, which collects over 530,000,000 measurements each day! Reporting to the Director of Internal Operations, the Senior Business Application Quality Assurance Engineer will be involved in testing and validating new tools and applications, some of which may be customer-facing, to allow Keynote?s Operations organization to become more productive and provide a better overall service to our customers. You will need to be comfortable with juggling multiple high-priority tasks, have a drive to exceed expectations, and be willing to hit the ground running and getting your hands dirty along the way. Depending on performance factors and at the manager?s sole discretion, the Senior Business Systems Quality Assurance Engineer may be eligible to telecommute up to 20% of the work week.
Design, develop and implement application unit testing framework and automation tools.
Design, develop, document and execute manual and automated test cases.
Work with business analysts and developers to determine the most effective testing and inspection strategy for projects of various size and complexity
Work with developers to isolate complex bugs and verify fixes.
Develop acceptance tests and setup of test data and environments.
Report software problems using a bug tracking system.
Generate bug reports and track and validate defects resolution.
Provide timely status to the project team.
Review and update release notes documentation.
Work collaboratively with the development, business analyst teams and end users during all stages of projects to provide in process testing results.
Coordinate groups of business personnel who test, evaluate and validate new functions and applications, and identify issues in software or services.
Obtains final signoff for code releases to production from the appropriate Business Owner.
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar
At least 3 years? of software testing experience with a structured software methodology in web-based and multi-tiered environment - J2EE or MS.NET applications.
3+ years? experience with software quality assurance with strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
3+ years of experience in working with XML and relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, etc.).
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the software development life cycle including requirements definition, initial application design, testing, final implementation and operations.
Good working experience with SQL.
Good working experience with Windows and UNIX environments.
Good experience in systems integration and user acceptance testing.
Demonstrated experience writing test plans, test requirements and test cases.
Solid knowledge of automated testing methods and experience writing project test plans and test cases.
Solid expertise in internet protocols with hands-on experience in Windows technologies and tools (Profiler or Fiddler).
In-depth knowledge of all phases of development/test cycles (system, integration, regression).
Good experience in testing multi-tiered applications, specifically front end, UI and database.
Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high-level of trust with developers and business analysts.
Ability to explain testing methodology, processes, tools, templates, environments, and concepts to team members.
Skilled in designing and executing technical validation scripts to validate data flow across systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Usability experience, a plus.
Self-motivated and passionate about the QA role.
