Senior Buyer/Planner Kiva Systems

Kiva Systems is seeking a talented and motivated Buyer/Planner with extensive experience buying and
planning for a variety of materials in the electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. The company has a
complex product that requires an organized, high-energy individual to plan and buy components and subassemblies
to support production. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized team player with excellent
communication and computer skills. The candidate will have an understanding of ERP systems, BOM
structures, and ECOs. The candidate should excel working in an innovative, high-energy environment and be
comfortable working the hours needed to meet demanding deadlines. This position reports to the Director of
Supply Chain and is responsible for:
Primary Responsibilities:
Planning material requirements, managing inventory, expediting parts, resolving issues, and inputting
data in the MRP system.
Purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors including the purchasing
of electro-mechanical, electronic components, PCB's, fabricated parts and non-inventory items.
Evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers and executing purchases
from point of order to receipt and acceptance of product.
Developing and providing appropriate materials status reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years buyer/planner experience in a manufacturing environment purchasing custom
designed mechanical, electrical, and molded products
Demonstrated success in small to medium size companies in a purchasing environment that required
a broad range of duties and responsibilities spanning from purchasing to planning to inventory control
Knowledge and understanding of accepted purchasing practices and philosophies, including document
control, bill of materials, and engineering changes
Use and familiarity with an ERP (Syteline a plus) and PDM/PLM systems (Arena Solutions a plus)
Excellent computer, written and oral communication skills
Proficient in MS applications
Direct experience with ISO 9001 Quality Systems, TQM and/or Six Sigma
Bachelors degree preferred
