Senior C/C++ Software Engineer Navsys
Job Summary
This is an opportunity for a hands-on highly skilled C/C++ Software Engineer or Embedded Software Engineer to learn about and work on cutting edge GPS products, including JTRS radios and Software Defined Radios (SDR). This engineer will work in a hands-on R&D atmosphere with a cross-functional team of hardware, firmware, software, research engineers and program managers.
This Engineer will lead or contribute to the design and development of systems where the key innovation is software-based. This position requires an experienced self-starter who is able to jump in and hit the ground running, a team player, and a versatile performer who can both work the big picture and deep dive in their areas of expertise to provide an individual contribution. A positive, flexible, can-do attitude is required.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of knowledge, skills and experience:
An "expert" level coder in C/C++ with 5 to 10 years hands-on software coding experience
Knowledge of requirement analysis, architectural design, and service-oriented architectures
Strong organizational, planning, multitasking and problem solving skills
Strong verbal & written communication skills are required
The following knowledge, skills, and experience are not required but are highly desirable:
Experience working in a small R&D environment
Experience working in the DoD industry developing aerospace or defense systems
Systems experience in one or more of the following areas: real-time systems, radar systems, RF communications, GPS receivers, digital signal processing, antennas, or instrument navigation systems
Proficiency with tools used to support Oracle Databases and Applications development including, but not limited to, PL/SQL, SQL-Plus, Java, JSP, Java Beans, OAF, Web Services, and XML
Experience with Information Assurance, Information Security, NSA encryption, or PKI
Knowledge of navigation systems and concepts
Citizenship, Education, and Security Clearance
U.S. citizenship is required.
Education or training may include a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or other related technical discipline.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A current or past security clearance is a big plus.
