Gilt Groupe is looking for a Senior Category Manger to partner with the EVP of Women & Kids and their senior team in growing and managing these two businesses. The Gilt Women?s & Kid?s businesses are positioned for significant growth and innovation in the years ahead and we need a senior member of the team who relishes the idea of managing projects, delving into analytics, and working closely with cross-functional partners and executives across the company.
The successful candidate will have a passion for fashion and lifestyle categories, the drive to develop creative strategies, to flawlessly execute on strategic goals, and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing ecommerce environment. Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to use customer data in smart and ground-breaking ways are a must. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are critical. He/she should be innovative, team oriented, and possess the skills to work with a diverse group of functional areas. A desire to participate in a fast-paced, start-up environment with rapidly changing priorities is essential.
This role calls for an individual who has their pulse on the Women?s & Kid?s categories within the competitive landscape and is continually looking for opportunities and risks to the business. He/she will work in partnership with the buying, marketing, finance, planning, product and business development teams to develop and execute strategies to maintain Gilt Groupe?s leadership position. He/she must have the technical depth necessary to build trust with development teams, and the business depth to interface with Gilt executives and build successful relationships with partners.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Conduct business and financial analysis, transforming complex data into actionable insights and strategies, clearly defining a path to meeting financial objectives, as well as monitoring performance against KPIs
Conduct competitor, customer, and market research analysis and drive strategy formulation based on this research
Manage and drive to resolution critical projects: identify bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs while building an outstanding customer experience
Define requirements, and drive Women?s & Kid?s specific customer experience projects and work with all relevant cross-functional areas to guarantee smooth, efficient implementation.
Partner with Business Development and Marketing to ensure that customer growth and branding goals are achieved
People management responsibility for one direct report
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, multi-channel marketing and/or analytical environment, including 2+ years of management consulting. eCommerce experience preferred. MBA is desirable
Exceptional business and customer experience judgment
Entrepreneurial spirit with strong program and product management skills.
Excellent quantitative skills and experience translating complex data into clear communication and action plans
Ability to take on diverse ad-hoc analysis involving multiple functional areas
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear visual and written communication. Ability to effectively present complex analysis to senior audiences
Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
Ability to build business relationships across functional teams and problem solve in situations with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects at one time
