Senior Chemist (Caustic Recovery) Auterra
Due to continuous growth, our R&D team has an immediate need for a highly motivated and creative candidate who can interact effectively in a team environment. This senior level professional Chemist position will have detailed knowledge of Kraft mill recaust chemistry and analytics, or refinery caustic recovery process chemistry and analytics. As an R&D chemist, you will have strong chemical analysis skills to collect experimental data and solve technical problems, both in the lab and in a pilot plant environment. These include chemical measurement and interpretation by GC, HPLC, IC, capillary electrophoresis, spectroscopy (ICP, AA, UV, FTIR, NMR), and wet chemistry techniques. Other responsibilities may include:Plan and execute assigned experiments on multiple projects.
Propose and explore alternatives to improve process efficiency.
Generate supporting documentation for experiments and results.
File patent disclosures and write technical reports and external publications.
Participate in technology planning meetings
Some travel required.
Qualifications: In addition to the caustic recovery experience,
we are looking for:
a BS in Chemistry with at least 5-7 years industrial experience
a self-starter with a proven track record solving difficult process chemistry problems individually and as member of a multi-disciplinary team.
an excellent communicator with strong organization skills
Demonstrated capability to perform multiple experiments concurrently and monitor progress by various analytical methods
