The Sr. Compensation Analyst is responsible for the company's total compensation programs, reviewing salary increases, promotions, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Ideal candidate will be skilled at creating innovative, competitive, performance-driving compensation plans while being able to lead organizations through change and into best practice shape.
Role & Responsibilities:
Implement job grading monitoring key indicators related to compensation and identifying areas of concern
Supporting annual processes such as merit increase planning and annual bonus payments
Participating on global teams for the implementation of corporate-wide initiatives
Conducting labor market analysis for targeted regions to address specific business concerns
Analyzing and tracking expatriates
Making recommendations for policy / practice modifications
Conduct salary and bonus analyses
Develop informational materials for the implementation of compensation programs and present training sessions to HR, business managers on compensation practices and philosophy
Work on the automation of a salary planning and performance management system
Generate reports from various HRIS applications on an as needed basis
Become involved with professional compensation and benefit associations to evaluate and report on new and emerging compensation and benefit best practices
Develop, analyze, and make recommendations for compensation programs in support of specific business units within the company to ensure they are competitive within the market, position, and industry
Participates in approved salary surveys through the collection and reporting of data to third-party survey providers. Reviews salary survey results and provides recommendations on additions/deletions of benchmark jobs in use
Provides analytical support in the development of merit budgets, band/cluster modifications, and incentive plan data gathering and reporting
Prepares economic and cost impact models of compensation initiatives for projects involving multiple business units and/or multi-year time periods
Provides counsel to management in the review of pay changes on an individual bases (e.g., promotions, transfers, etc.)
Participates in the development of incentive compensation plan designs (e.g., executive compensation, short- and long-term plans, and assures model validation and alignment with goals, forecasts costs and develops the communication plans, tools to measure attainment against plan, and calculation of potential award amounts
Conducts complex analyses on new or existing jobs to develop recommendations on band allocation and base pay recommendations, utilizing a market pricing job evaluation system
Maintains currency in all aspects of compensation through formal and informal training, participation in local and national professional organizations, continuous learning and reading, and general professional curiosity
Manages complex ad-hoc Compensation projects and analyses
Requirements
University degree in related field ? Human resources, finance, economics, business
Experience in supporting compensation activities including job grading, market analysis, report development, communicating results / findings to managers with strong operational/execution focus
Experience working with and applying various job evaluation techniques, salary survey practices and methodologies, broad bands, job documentation, the elements of total rewards, and career ladder concepts
Experience with implementing and managing web-based compensation and benefits applications
Strong working knowledge of employment laws associated with benefits and compensation
Exceptional professionalism, judgment, communication problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Acute attention to accuracy and detail in all aspects of responsibilities
Advanced Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table) and PowerPoint
Self-motivated, works with limited direction, ability to multi-task, ability to successfully interface with business leaders and gain their respect; ability to analyze large data sets and translate data into information
Experience in a startup to mid-size global environment is a plus
Knowledge of confidentiality requirements associated with the practice of Human Resources, in general, and Compensation, specifically
Knowledge of basic accounting and financial principals and the requirements of collaborating with Finance on relevant compensation activities
Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and its applicability to the job evaluation process
Certified Equity Professional (CEP) is a bonus
