Cogent HMG is the industry leader in developing and managing hospital medicine programs nationwide. We align with dozens of hospitals to integrate hospitalist programs that best serve patient care needs and achieve goals of quality, safety, efficiency and service. We are currently seeking an experienced Physician Recruiter to work at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN. The Physician Recruiter will be responsible for screening, recruiting, and closing hospitalist physician candidates for new and existing markets within Cogent Healthcare, Inc., a nation-wide hospitalist company. This position interfaces directly with the Operations Department, Medical Management Department, Credentialing Department, Contracting Department, and the Hospital Client on a continual basis. The focus is on hiring the best physicians into the company in an efficient and timely manner.
Essential Functions:
Improve recruiting process and quality of candidates hired. Refine physician hiring processes through improved sourcing, development of assessment tools, and the ability to react quickly to the hiring needs of the company.
Meet with Operations and Lead Physicians on an ongoing basis to assess the hiring needs of the markets. Work with Director of Care Team Development to implement staffing action plan and assess during weekly recruitment meetings.
Active participation in Implementation Status Report meetings
Thoroughly evaluate and research recruitment environment for all new markets
In conjunction with Director of Care Team Development, develop short-term staffing alternatives for critical needs markets.
Assess and refine locums tenens company relationships
Grow and develop wrap physician network in new markets
Review, refine, and improve all recruitment practices and maintain oversight of recruitment process
Assess and improve recruitment efforts via internet, mailings, journal advertising, medical conferences, etc.
In conjuction with Director of Care Team Development, develop assessment tools to help with consistent evaluation of candidate quality and competency.
Actively participate in ?onsite market? physician interviews in new markets by shepherding candidates through process with Cogent HMG and Hospital Client
Education, Training and Experience
3 - 5 years of physician recruiting experience with a track record of implementing successful recruitment, selection and development strategies for a company that is experiencing significant growth.
BA/BS degree is preferred
Experience Negotiating Physician Employment Contracts ? Preferred
Moderate domestic travel required (25%)
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
