Position Summary:
DriveCam is seeking an experienced corporate attorney to assist the VP, Legal Affairs in providing legal advice on a wide range of matters. The Senior Counsel will have significant responsibility for providing legal support in connection with day-to-day operations of the business, including support of contracts, licensing, strategic transactions, corporate governance, compliance, data privacy and other regulatory matters.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate and draft customer contracts, vendor and supply agreements, licensing agreements and strategic transaction agreements.
Implement and oversee contracts management system, with ongoing responsibility for maintaining corporate records repository.
Serve as an expert in data privacy issues related to DriveCam?s business, informing the company?s data rights strategy.
Develop and implement various compliance programs, including FCPA, GSA price compliance and intellectual property protection.
Manage outside counsel, including international counsel, as required for subject matter expertise.
Requirements:
Education/Experience: Juris Doctorate degree, along with 7-10 years of experience working in a major law firm and/or in-house counsel with a focus on general corporate, securities, intellectual property licensing, transactional and regulatory matters is required.
An undergraduate degree in a business or engineering related field is a plus.
The individual must be registered to practice in California. Must have legal right to work in the US.

Utmost professionalism in interactions with members of the Board of Directors, executive leadership and outside counsel in a wide array of fields.
Effectiveness in this role requires a full understanding of DriveCam?s corporate operations and product lines.
Requires excellent judgment and a thorough working knowledge of general corporate law and SEC regulations.
Perform duties independently with instruction given on new projects or assignments.
Ability to manage problems of highly diverse scope and moderate to high complexity.
Multiple tasks must often be performed contemporaneously, requiring understanding of issues surrounding personnel, finance, contracts, corporate structure, and technology.
A willingness and competence to pay attention to detail and minutiae is essential.
The ability to recognize when to seek the advice of the VP, Legal Affairs, other company personnel, or external advisors is important.
