Senior Customer Marketing Manager Workday, Inc.

We are looking for an innovative, resourceful, and data-driven manager to lead expansion of the corporate Customer Marketing function and to build strategic customer advocacy relationships. This position will be based at our Pleasanton, Headquarters. Key objectives for this role include:
- Expansion of our customer reference community including development of highly engaged, mutually-beneficial reference relationships
- Strategic focus on engaging senior customer executives including CEOs, CIOs, CFOs and CHROs in mutually beneficial market activity and speaking opportunities
- Consistent development of high-quality customer assets, stories and sales tools including case studies, videos and presentations that effectively support sales and marketing objectives
- Strategic marketing supportâworking with marketing to plan, prioritize and successfully engage customers in marketing campaigns and events
- Development of highly productive working relationships and rules of engagement with sales, marketing and customer success
- Management and evolution of core operational processes to ensure exceptional service as well as activity tracking, data integrity, effective program management, and accurate reporting
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Take a leadership role in defining and refining Customer Marketing priorities to best support goals of our growing customer community as well as Workday business objectives
- Leverage corporate practices and the Customer Access Center database to set up clear processes and rules of engagement with customers, as well as internal sales and marketing
- Evangelize the Customer Marketing program to customers and internal stakeholders
- Grow and nurture the pool of reference customers including: identifying and on-boarding new references, C-level customer engagement, long-term relationship development, recognition and rewards
- Interview customers to learn their stories and interests then successfully match them to sales and marketing requests and assets to be created
- Manage creation of customer assets and evidence to support the sales cycle including: case studies, videos, web content, slides, data about customers, quotes and other sales tools
- Work closely with Corporate Marketing and Corporate Communications to plan, prioritize and fulfill requests for customers to participate in campaigns, speaking opportunities, press releases, media and analyst interviews
- Manage customer experience and communications through content and campaign development
- Provide review of all sales and marketing materials containing customer information to ensure only approved information is used or customer approval is received for new assets
- Ensure the Customer Access Center database is kept current with customer information, activities and assets
- Monitor and report on reference trends, usage, participation and traction against goals to assess successes and gaps
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- 7+ years of related customer-facing and marketing experience
- Demonstrated success developing mutually beneficial relationships with customers
- Successful experience working with customers, including senior executives to engage them in marketing and speaking opportunities, work with them to develop content, handle them onsite at events and interview them for asset development
- Successful track record working with sales to deliver customer evidence and references that support the sales cycle
- Marketing background with successful track record supporting marketing campaigns and delivering marketing assets including case studies, videos and sales tools
- Experience influencing and communicating with all levels within an organization including senior executives
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience translating technical information into meaningful business benefits and impact
- Strong program management skills with focus on delivering results
- Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
- Strong collaboration with ability to work well on a dispersed team
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and perform well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience working with customer reference management and database systems
