Brief Description of position:
The HMS Professional Services group immediately seeks a Senior Data Analyst to implement and support data management solutions for our pharmacy, government, and PBM clients. The Professional Services Senior Data Analyst will engage as a knowledgeable analyst on prescriber eligibility, data management, and data remediation projects. The Senior Data Analyst will work with development and support teams to gather and evaluate client business requirements and facilitate generating functional requirements and solution build specifications. The Senior Data Analyst will use templates, standard processes, and guidelines to leverage proven techniques and tools throughout client implementations and support operations. This role will also support the sales process as well as build and maintain client relationships.
The Professional Services Senior Data Analyst will possess the key capabilities of a data analyst and business analyst, and QA analyst while possessing project management skills, including but not limited to:
Extracting, analyzing, and preparing data sets using Oracle SQL, MS Access and Excel
Managing business requirements throughout the life cycle of a client engagement or contract
Maintaining timelines, milestones, issues logs and action items lists
Developing and executing use cases and test cases
The Senior Data Analyst must also be highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities and comfortable with operating with minimal direction in a highly-dynamic, timeline-driven, fast-paced, regulated environment.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Executing all components of a project including product implementation and delivery, quality assurance and SLA maintenance
Gathering, documenting, reviewing, and tracing business requirements with internal and external stakeholders
Providing a high-level of customer service to business and technical users of HMS products
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with assigned clients
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Sales, Professional Services, and other operational teams.
Establishing proficiencies with HMS product offerings necessary to support HMS?s products and services
Working with support resources to understand specific customer issues and provide guidance and instruction on system functionality related to new software releases and data deliverables
Other tasks that will be required:
Preparing data administration documentation and solution user guides
Providing feedback and input on product enhancements and potential new offerings
Identifying new and incremental business opportunities with assigned clients
Assisting in the development and maintenance of quality assurance processes
Any other ancillary tasks assigned by the company from time to time
Key Competencies:
Strong data manipulation and data analysis skills
Knowledge of database structures, normalization, de-normalization and entity relationships
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently as well as a team.
Ability to develop and maintain documentation
Job Requirements:
BA/BS degree required (business, engineering, information technology, or equivalent major preferred)
2+ years experience performing data analysis in a enterprise relational database environment such as Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, or MySQL
Strong competency with MS Office Suite including:
MS Visio for workflows and data flow diagrams
MS Access and MS Excel for data analysis, manipulation , and delivery
At least one full project cycle in one of the following roles: Data Analyst; Business Analyst; QA Analyst or Data Testing Specialist
Life Sciences industry experience preferably working with customer master or other MDM systems, data warehouses, data marts, analytics, business intelligence, or reporting systems
Working knowledge of prescriber/provider data sources (e.g., Health Market Science, IMS Health, Wolters Kluwer Health)
Demonstrated skills using an SDLC methodology
Familiarity with or experience operating in an agile development
